Tulip’s owner was struggling to regulate her dog’s blood sugar levels and had been making a homemade diet that was not complete and balanced. Her owner is a health conscious person and in the human nutrition field so she really wanted to take Tulip’s nutrition seriously and to the next level after Tulip was diagnosed with diabetes. This diet also focused on the right amount of fiber to help with stabilizing blood glucose, lower in fat, while being complete and balanced. Within a few weeks of trying the diet we realized the sweet potato in the diet was causing a spike in Tulip’s blood sugar, we took that out and reformulated for any nutrient loss from the sweet potato. Since then, Tulip has been doing fabulous and was able to lower her insulin dose significantly.
