I love making my dogs homemade bone broth because it is so incredibly healthy for them and they love it. They would probably like to drink it with every meal. The nutrients and enzymes from homemade bone broth are so healthy and you just don’t get the same amount of goodness from store bought broth. Plus, there is no added sodium or unwanted ingredients.
Since it’s summer, I thought I’d give the dogs a cool healthy treat by making popsicles out of the bone broth! It is super easy, you do have to make the bone broth which can take about a day if you want to do it right.
Click here for my bone broth recipe, then follow the instructions below.
1. Once you have the bone broth ready and cooled enough to make the popsicles, you’ll need to get out your popsicle molds. I used these. They are really durable and much better than cheaper ones I have gotten in the past.
2. Fill the molds with any healthy additions to the popsicles like blueberries, unsweetened coconut flakes, broccoli, carrots, sweet potato, red bell pepper, etc.
3. Fill the molds with your homemade bone broth and put the mold tops on. Set in the freezer for a few hours until fully frozen.
4. Take them out and let your dog lick away! I didn’t give my dogs the option to take the pops and chew on them because I didn’t want them to break the plastic mold, just be mindful of this. You could also put a bully stick in the middle of the popsicle mold instead of the plastic top.
